Ranjani
My 12-years-old daughter Ranjani was an extremely playful girl. She never wasted any time whatsoever in heading out of the house to play with her friends. One evening while playing Ranjani started shivering and had breathing problem. She immediately came to the house with her friend. Her friend told us Ranjani is unwell. We told her to lie down on the bed, As the situation didn’t improve over the next 2 days, my husband and I decided to take Ranjani to the doctor. The doctor gave some medicine but no improvement her condition worsened.
We rushed her to a hospital. The doctors there couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was wrong with our daughter, but suspected a lung or a heart problem and told us that we will admit her for some tests, after doing the tests the doctors told us that she is having a heart problem. Me and My husband were shocked when he told us to take her to a good hospital in Delhi as we don’t have the required facilities in the hospital.
We came to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi and met Dr. Neeraj Aggarwal. After doing the tests doctor told us that She has a Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) as well as a problem with one of the valves ever since the time She was born and the cost of the surgery will be Rs 2,75,000/- We were shocked as we don’t have that money. My Husband is a gardener and I am a housewife.
We feel helpless as we know we will never be able to afford our daughter’s life saving surgery on our own.
