Right to Equality

Why do we have a different set of rules for men and women in society? Why do we have gender-specific roles in the family? Where is this all coming from?

According to a scientific study, women are multi - tasks performers than men. However, men are preferred over women at many workplaces. They are not judged on the basis of their capabilities but on the basis of their gender. Despite a significant role, they are paid less than their male counterparts irrespective of the profession. This ill-treatment for women is entirely based on the myth that women are only good as mothers and wives.

Also, for them, their career is a mere hobby and they lack passion as compared to men. Moreover, parents prefer to spend money on the education of the son and not the daughter because they believe she has to get married and leave them whereas the son is the one who would take their responsibility. However, this usually turns out the other way round.

Many women need a little encouragement and motivation so that their unheard voices can be heard. In order to make this possible, many NGOs like Diya India Foundation have undertaken the mission to make their lives better than what they are living now. The assistance of these NGOs have made a big difference in the lives of many. Women do not want free metro rides or bus rides in the name of women empowerment but, stringent laws against violation of any of the women rights.
