Chief Patron - Dr. Ved Pratap Vaidik
Chairman, Council for Indian foreign policy
Dr.Ved Pratap Vaidik is a journalist, political analyst and freelance columnist of India. He had been with Press Trust of India as the founder-editor of its Hindi news agency “Bhasha”. Before that he was the Editor (views) in Navbharat Times of the Times Group. At present, he is the Chairman of Bhartiya Bhasha Sammelan. Some of the awards received by Dr. Vaidik are- Govind Vallabh Pant award 1976, Purushottam Das Tandon award 1988,Hindi Academy Delhi award for Journalism 1990,Ram Manohar Lohia award Kanpur 1990, Lala Lajpat Rai award 1992 and many more. Dr Vaidik has been a very strong support for Diya India Foundation through his timely guidance.

Former Head of Cardiology, AIIMS, New Delhi
With over 35 years of experience in the field of medicine, Dr. S. C.Manchanda contributed to the society not just through saving lives, but also by educating thousands of students. He has been one of the major contributors to research in the field of Cardiology. Having won several accolades another feather was added to his cap when he was honored with the Padma Shri award in 2004. As the chairman of Diya India Foundation it is his foresight and vision that has helped us in changing many lives.

Mr. Sushil Ansal - Member

Mr. Sushil Ansal carries with himself an experience of almost four decades in the construction industry and chairs an organization that is often recalled whenever we talk about changing the infrastructure of India. His ability to multitask has earned him position as a member of the executive committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers and Commerce Industry (FICCI). He is also the chairman of FICCI’s India-Canada joint business council. We at Diya India Foundation are proud to have him as an advisory board member who manages to spend time in guiding and sharing his ideas time to time in our mission to build a better India.

Mr. Adesh Gupta - Member

Mr. Adesh Gupta can be tagged as the pioneer of footwear industry. With an experience of over 20 years in the footwear industry no one knows the industry better than he does. Sh. Adesh Gupta has immense knowledge about the footwear industry and overlooks the wide operations of the firm. He has been instrumental in setting Liberty Shoes Ltd. to where it stands today. He has been embraced by many prestigious awards and is currently a key functionary of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). As an individual he stands for healthcare and environment related issues and supports wide initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Mr. Nadeem Raza - Member

With over 20 years of experience across various departments in chemical industry, Mr. Nadeem Raza comes out to be a man who believes in simple living. His simplicity is the most striking thing about him and that is what instantly catches the attention. He got a social calling few years back and now he is one of the panel members of our advisory board and supports Diya India in all its social initiative. His support to our children gives us a moral boost to keep working hard to provide the benefits to the less fortunate children.

Mrs. Shirin Paul - Member
Chairperson Emeritus, Apeejay Surrendra Group
Mrs Shirin Paul, Chairperson of a group of company, that also runs one of the best schools in the country, she knows both business and education. She took over the Chairmanship of the Apeejay Surrendra Group (a dynamic Indian multinational with rapidly expanding operations in Tea, Hospitality, Shipping, Real Estate and Retail) under tragic circumstances in April 1990. Mrs. Paul directs the Educational and Philanthropic activities of the Group. As a Trustee of the Apeejay Trust, she works with development projects focusing on children, women, the disadvantaged and the disabled. She has always stressed on creating an education system where studies becomes a fun and stress free activity. Her focus area in Diya India Foundation is our social initiative “Gurukul-Education for Underprivileged Children”.

Dr. Rita K Thukral - Member
Eminent Nephrologist & President, Global Charity Foundation, USA
Dr Reeta K. Thukral immigrated to United States of America in 1973. She has been in the practice of medicine as a kidney specialist for over 30 years in the United States. She also has practiced medicine in India and New Zealand. Dr. Thukral currently resides in Las Vegas NV. Dr. Thukral is also Founder / President of Man Mohini Kaul Charitable Medical Trust in India. She provides time to time support to Diya India Foundation in Project- Gurukul giving education to under privileged children at Chetan Vidya Mandir and Chetan Playway School.

Mrs. Saru Bansal - Member

Apart from holding a director level position in one of the biggest corporate house in India, Mrs. Saru Bansal has always been inclined towards social service. She is an eminent social worker who raises voice against several social causes. We are happy to have her on our panel of advisory board.

Mrs. Asha Gandhi is a part of Sahara organization that provides counseling, rehabilitation, and intervention to distressed people. She has an experience in the field of health care for more than 12 years. With her excellence in social work and strong links she is always a helping hand to Diya. Along with her guidance she provides special emphasis in healthcare and nutritional benefit of underprivileged children at Diya India. She always suggests creative, innovative and beneficiating ideas that really helpin expansion and better working of the foundation.

Mrs. Surat Misra - Member
Sociologist & Media Analyst
Mrs. Surat Misra, a Sociologist and Media Analyst have immense experience in the field of media with Doordarshan. She retired from Doordarshan as Deputy Director (PR) & Chief Protocol Officer in the Directorate General in September 2008 and was appointed as Consultant for Media and Public Relations in All India Radio. She also made several public service films on different subjects. She has made reports on several issues like crimes against women in India, suicides, un-touch ability and has also been involved in the introduction of sex education for children in association with NCERT. At Diya She has inclination towards girl child education, Gurukul- education for Underprivileged Children, Samridhi-Vocational training for women and women empowerment.

Mrs. Jayanti Dalmia - Member
Chairperson, Dalmia Sewa Trust
Mrs Jayanti Verma prefers introducing herself as a social worker first and then a businesswoman. An amazing personality and a positive attitude towards everything are the best words to describe her. She has been with Diya for a long time now, but her enthusiasm remains just like as if it has been just a fresh start. She has been focused on the issue of differently able and has an aim of tapping the potential of these children providing support in best possible manner.

Mrs. Rita Kaul - Member

Ms. Rita Kaul, is a special educator and psychologist with 23 years of experience specializes in setting up innovative schools. She has been a recipient of many national awards for excellence in education, notable ones being Arch of Excellence (Education) Award 2001, Shiksha Shiromani Puruskar, and Spardhashree Award. Mrs.Rita Kaul is a member of International Standards of Technical Education (ISTE, USA) for Delhi chapter. She has been the founder principal of The Heritage School, New Delhi and Senior School in-charge, Apeejay School, Faridabad. She is one the advisory board member for Diya India Foundation strengthening the efforts of the team.
